The magazine stalls help to shame ageing masses
With plasticine noses and plastic eyelashes
Well the welcome is warm but it’s just temporary
Whatever you’ve got arranged just make sure there’s a plan B

To learn to get by is to learn how to blend
So you hang around pools where they shake, and they bake, and they make you a new friend
But no-ones in the water cos there’s roaches in the deep end.

But in the grim North East they all laugh at least
No ‘ello’ in West LA
But in the cold North West they all send their best.

Where the rockers are drug free and the rollers are sober
There’s a fella from Kiss saying rock n roll is over.
Everyone is giving up on getting down
The dream is disappearing from city to city, from town to town
I don’t know what it is but there’s a lot of it around
